Student Involvement Opportunities

Ways To Get Involved

Students have multiple ways to connect with alumni and participate in the association's programs.

Virtual Networking

Students have the opportunity to virtually connect with alumni from specific industries or regional areas. Upcoming virtual events can be found on the events calendar.

Student Ambassadors

UNCW Student Ambassadors are the official student volunteers for the Alumni Association. In addition to working with the Alumni Association and the rest of the Division for University Advancement, Student Ambassadors work with the Chancellor, admissions, prospective and current students, and the community, volunteering their time to promote and serve the university.  Find out more about UNCW Student Ambassadors.

Legacy Students

Students who have a parent, grandparent, or sibling who has also attended UNCW are celebrated as Legacies. Find out more about admissions, scholarships and celebrations for Legacy students.

Taking Flight Program

The Alumni Association partners with Student Affairs to host a networking reception each year for students in the Taking Flight program. Students in this program have the unique opportunity to network with alumni volunteers and donors.

Scholarships For Students

The association annually provides 20 merit scholarships, totaling more than $50,000 in awards funded by alumni contributions. These scholarships are awarded to incoming, undergraduate and graduate students. Applications are available December through March, through the university's Scholarship Application.
