UNC Wilmington has announced the recipients of the 2025 Alumni Association Distinguished Awards. The distinguished awards are presented to individuals in recognition of their extraordinary achievement, outstanding character and exemplary service to the university and community.
The announcement precedes the university's Homecoming celebrations Feb. 13-16. The awardees will be acknowledged during the festivities; however, a formal celebration will be held in June as a part of the Weekend in Wilmington celebration.
According to UNCW Alumni Association Executive Director Lindsay LeRoy, UNCW’s transformative impact is evident in the 2025 honorees.
“These remarkable Seahawks have not only acknowledged the profound influence of the university on their lives from the time they were students but have also committed themselves to giving back. Their efforts are the tailwinds for the path for future generations of Seahawks to soar,” said LeRoy. “Together with UNCW, these four Seahawks continue to elevate their alma mater to new heights. On behalf of over 109,000 alumni worldwide, we honor their invaluable contributions to UNCW, our communities and the world.”
