Charlotte native and UNCW standout Jaylen Sims ’22 has signed a 10-day contract with the Chalotte Hornets.
Sims, who has played with the Greensboro Swarm for the past three seasons, is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer and was instrumental in securing the Swarm’s first NBA G League playoff berth this season.
During his tenure with Greensboro, Sims appeared in 137 games, averaging 15.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. This season, he led the team with 936 points and 174 free throws, ranking second in three-pointers made.
Before joining the professional ranks, Sims played four seasons at UNCW where he earned All-Colonial First Team honors as a senior. Sims is the fourth Seahawk to make an NBA appearance, joining Devontae Cacok ’19, Matt Fish ’93, and Brian Rowsom (1983-1987).
