Matthew Wise ’23 receives two awards from the Colonel George Waller chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). The social studies teacher at North Stokes high school is recognized as the SAR chapter teacher of the year for his dedication to teaching. Wise is in his 11th year of teaching and serves as the school’s wrestling coach and chess club sponsor.
Wise also earned the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal for his outstanding community contributions. This award is given to individuals who exemplify leadership and patriotism while having a significant impact on their communities. The SAR honored Wise’s profound influence on his students and school community through his actions.
As teacher of the year and the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal recipient, Wise is a critical member of his community and school. His leadership and character continue to inspire everyone he meets to strive for excellence.
