Heather Wilson ’05 is a recipient of the 2024 Museum Leadership Award in recognition of museum professionals who exemplify extraordinary advancement within the museum workplace.
Wilson began working at the Cameron Art Museum (CAM) in 2006 as a development officer. She was promoted to deputy director in 2019 and executive director in 2023. Her leadership and character transformed the museum into an inclusive environment for the Wilmington community.
During her time at CAM, Wilson created the CAM’s Connections programs for those living with disabilities and the Art Enhances Health program for those undergoing cancer treatment.
