15 UNCW Alumni have been featured in the 2024 Wilmington Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40.

40 Under 40 highlights and celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of young professionals within the greater Wilmington area who are innovators making significant contributions to their diverse range of industries and roles.

The sixth annual awards ceremony was held on Oct. 9, 2024, at the Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts.

The alumni honorees are as follows:

  • Christine “Roz” Williams ’07, nCino
    Williams is Senior Content Marketing Manager with nCino, Inc. — a cloud-based software company that provides digital banking solutions to financial institutions. While attending UNCW, she earned a B.S. in marketing.

  • Emily Mitchell ’17, Cape Fear Literacy Council
    Mitchell is Development Director for the Cape Fear Literacy Council, which provides personalized education to help adults transform their lives and contribute to a stronger community. She is also a freelance Social Media Manager for Wilmington Water Tours. During her time at UNCW, she earned a B.S. in biology. Mitchell is also a former UNCW employee.

  • Graham Elmore ’16M, Vantaca
    Elmore is Director of People and Culture at Vantaca, a software platform that helps manage homeowners' associations (HOAs) efficiently. During his time at UNCW, Elmore earned a B.A. in middle grades education and a master’s in school administration. While working towards his master’s, he served as a principal intern at UNCW.

  • Hannah Betancourt ’18M, Novant Health NHRMC
    Betancourt is Director of Nursing at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She earned an M.S. in Nursing Education from UNCW.

  • Hogan Hagy ’15M, Deloitte
    Hagy is Senior Manager and Client Service Executive at Deloitte Digital, a global consulting firm that specializes in digital strategy, design and technology solutions. During his time at UNCW, Hagy earned a B.S. in computer science and an MBA from the Cameron School of Business. He was also part of the UNCW MBA Association and Upsilon Pi Epsilon (International Honor Society for the Computing and Information Disciplines).

  • Hunter MacIntyre ’13M, Wilmington Health
    MacIntyre is Director of Physician Relations at Wilmington Health. During her time at UNCW, she studied communication studies and public administration and earned a master's in public health.

  • Katie Tate ’22, Lower Cape Fear Life Care
    Tate is Director of Foundation at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to the highest quality lifecare, education, and support services to patients and families. During her time at UNCW, she earned a master’s in healthcare administration.

  • Kenneth Gilliard ’13, Gilliard & Co. LLC
    Gilliard is President and CEO of Gilliard & Co. LLC Event Planning. Starting his own event planning company in 2016, he specializes in weddings, fundraisers, themed parties and more, bringing a passion for creativity and life to every event. During his time at UNCW, Gilliard studied English.

  • Lambeth Chalk ’21M, Nourish NC
    Chalk is Program Director at Nourish NC, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing healthy food to hungry children and empowering them to succeed in the classroom and their communities. During her time at UNCW, Lambeth earned a bachelor’s in Spanish and a master’s in Spanish language and literature. She is also a former Spanish instructor for the university.

  • Larry Salefsky ’08, East Coast Volleyball Academy
    Salefsky owns his own business, East Coast Volleyball Academy. The academy is the largest and most successful volleyball club in Wilmington, NC, offering indoor training, club teams, camps, clinics, beach training and lessons. While at UNCW, Salefsky studied business administration with the Cameron School of Business, earning his bachelor’s.

  • Lindsey Zurcher ’08, MegaCorp Logistics
    Zurcher is Chief Human Resources Officer at MegaCorp Logistics, a full-service logistics company that specializes in transporting goods across the U.S. and Canada. She earned a bachelor’s in accounting and finance from UNCW.

  • Matt Bork ’10M, Liberty Senior Living
    Bork is Vice President of Finance at Liberty Senior Living. While at UNCW, he earned an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Cameron School of Business.

  • Matthew Schneider ’14, Champion Valves
    Schneider is General Manager at Champion Valves Inc. While at UNCW, he earned a BSBA in business administration and marketing from the Cameron School of Business and was a part of the UNCW CLES Leadership and Service-Learning Community and golf club.

  • Mayra Robles ’23M, UNCW Centro Hispano
    Robles is Program Coordinator of Centro Hispano at UNCW. While attending UNCW, Robles earned a Master of Public Administration and was part of the MI CASA Youth Mentoring Program, Centro Hispano Embajadores, Sigma Delta Pi Hispanic Honor Society and Watson Student Leaders.

  • Olaf Sanchez-Parada ’25, Helen Tarokic Law PLLC
    Sanchez-Parada is a Senior Paralegal at Helen Tarokic Law PLLC, specializing in Spanish and immigration. He is also an active-duty Combat Medic in the North Carolina National Guard, assigned to New Hanover County 120th Infantry Regiment. A current transfer student at UNCW, Sanchez-Parada is working towards his B.A. in criminology. He is also a part of the Student Veterans Organization.
