YOUR SEAHAWK EXPERIENCE

Why did you choose to attend UNCW?
  • As a legacy student, I grew up visiting the area and attending alumni events, like Homecoming, and I fell in love with the campus & environment.
What does it mean to you to be a Seahawk?
  • To be a Seahawk at UNCW means embracing the university’s spirit of academic excellence, community engagement, and its coastal culture.
What is your favorite place on campus?
  • I love the Fisher Student Union!
What campus student organizations are you part of (outside of Ambassadors)?
  • In addition to being an Ambassador I am part of the club softball team, Women in Business, American Marketing Association (AMA), and the Special Olympics.
How do you balance your work/school responsibilities with your personal life?
  • I balance my school responsibilities and personal life by using time management strategies and evaluating my priorities.
How have you grown during your time at UNCW?
  • I've learned more about myself and what my passions are!
Where do you see yourself after graduation?
  • I see myself staying in Wilmington and taking a gap year to work full time –– then coming back and getting my masters.
What is the best piece of advice you have received?
  • “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” – Theodore Roosevelt
What advice do you have for students looking to be involved on campus?
  • There is a club for everything! Go on WaveLink, check out all the clubs, and contact the people in the club. It is never too late, even if you have missed a meeting! Put yourself out there and do things out of your comfort zone!

YOUR AMBASSADOR EXPERIENCE

Why did you decide to become an Ambassador with the Division of Advancement?
  • I saw Ambassadors as an opportunity to make connections and grow as a leader and future professional –– it has been an incredible experience!
What is an accomplishment with the Ambassadors that you are most proud of?
  • I’m most proud of getting Celsius as an OOZEBALL sponsor last year!
How has being an Ambassador set you up for success after graduation?
  • Being an Ambassador has set me up for success after graduation by helping me build professional skills, meaningful connections, and a strong sense of leadership.
What advice would you share with your peers about getting involved with Advancement events and campaigns?
  • I’d tell my peers that getting involved with Advancement events and campaigns is one of the best ways to make a lasting impact at UNCW –– both as a student and beyond!
What has being an Ambassador taught you about philanthropy and giving back to UNCW (through time, talent & treasure)?
  • Ultimately, being an Ambassador teaches that philanthropy is about connection, gratitude, and paying it forward to ensure future Seahawks have even better opportunities.
