After arriving at UNCW from New Jersey, Ray Worrell '93 never left. Now, he owns four Slice of Life locations across Wilmington, filling the town with pizza one piece at a time. Voted Best Pizza and Best Late Night Eatery in Wilmington several years in a row, Worrell found his passion in the food industry and lives it out daily.

Worrell has become a fixture in downtown Wilmington, serving on the Municipal Services District Advisory Committee. He also sat on the NourishNC board and was named the organization's volunteer of the year in 2017.

"Wilmington has always felt like home," he said. "Whether we're partnering with NourishNC or downtown, we want to continue to make the most of our opportunities here."

From salads to tacos to nachos to pizza, Slice has grown right alongside Wilmington and UNCW and aims to be a fixture in both for years to come.
